YOUNG ADULT WORSHIP

An online space for 18-35 year-olds to come together for worship, reflection, and connection.
Wednesdays 9pm – 9:30pm   More info and zoom link

Our sessions last around 30 minutes; please join the meeting whenever you are ready: don’t worry if you can’t make it for the start time. If you wish to, you are very welcome to stay for a chat for 15 minutes or so afterward.

The focus is to have some quiet time together at the end of the day; it will be held in Quaker stillness. You will be joining a silent meeting, there will be space to speak if you feel moved to and there may be a reading by the host.

We will mute ourselves when not speaking to help ensure that everyone can hear ministry and to minimise background noise.

You don’t have to be a Quaker to come to worship.

Young Friends General Meeting (YFGM)

YFGM is the national community for young adults (18-35) within the Religious Society of Friends. The name refers to both the organisation and to the three  gatherings held over weekends in February, May, and October each year. These take place in various Quaker Meeting Houses across Britain. They describe themselves as a diverse bunch, united by a willingness to explore issues surrounding faith and social justice, who worship together in silence, but also use workshops and interactive spirituality sessions to explore how their faith is calling them to act in the world. Follow this link to find out more.

At each YFGM there are newcomers sessions, providing a chance to get to know other newcomers, ask questions, and find out more about Quakers and about YFGM. At each gathering, time is spent as a community building friendships, exploring faith and spirituality, having fun, exploring interests, and thinking about things that matter – responding to suggestions from the entire community. The aim is to be a welcoming and accessible space to all.
